Walk in Knole Park
January 23 @ 10:30 am - 3:30 pm
We will use the old favourite of Knole Park to walk as much as possible on tarmac in what is usually a very muddy month.
Start at the south west entrance to Knole Park (St Julian’s Gate, St Julian’s Road, just off the Sevenoaks-Tonbridge main road). North along the valley (the Gallops) until we get to the main drive to Knole House. Follow that to the house. Left turn onto Duchess Walk (going north east) and follow the path across the golf course to Godden Green. Just under three miles. Lunch at The Bucks Head. https://www.
The Gallops is well-drained grassland. The last bit of the path into Godden Green has one or two muddy bits, but easily coped with. The first bit of the park after Bowpitts is on well-drained land. All the rest is on tarmac or decent paths.
We will start at 10:30 and aim for lunch at noon or soon after. If anyone wants to do morning only then they can leave their car(s) at Godden Green outside the pub and David will pick them up at about 10:15 as he will be passing about then. If anyone wants to do afternoon only then he can drop them back at Godden Green afterwards to retrieve their car(s).
Please let David Williams know no later than 6:00pm on Tuesday 22nd January whether you are planning to walk, and which bits.
