Speaker:  Duncan Lavin “An Antarctic Odyssey”.  It was a childhood dream for Duncan to visit Antarctica and he finally realised this in 2017.  With his wife and close friends, he cruised from Buenos Aires to Antarctica via Tierra del Fuego and onwards to Elephant Island, the Falklands, Punta Tombo Nature Reserve in Argentina and Montevideo. His talk will include a slideshow dipping into the history of Polar exploration, South American fauna, the Falklands War, wildlife in the Weddell Sea and Southern Atlantic Ocean plus a little Uruguayan and Argentine history. It will be accompanied by stunning photography.
